November 5th Reality Check

In March 2021 I went public with the fact that I pressed charges against Mr. Richard Stanley for Domestic Abuse and Battery in October 2014 after speaking with his then partner who had just pressed charges against him for Domestic Abuse and Battery. Her accounts mirrored my own and were in some ways more horrific. I realized my silence had been enabling him to continue to abuse women so I spoke up. There is a court date for the current set of charges at the beginning of next year.

I am making my charges public and have blacked out the names of my parents (one of whom is in hospice right now) and my friends in France who helped me at the time. This is not subversion on my part but rather an attempt to protect them from Mr. Stanley’s internet accomplices who are quite virulent in their trolling and general online harassment. Also, yes, I took a nom de plume many years ago when I started writing.

I apologize for the translation but I don’t speak the French language well.

The Doctor’s Report:

I the undersigned, Doctor Thierry Barbier, certify having examined this day at his request Mrs. Tracy Roberston, born ----, and who declares to me to have been the victim of assault and battery on October 9, 2014.

On examination, I noticed the following:

- hematoma ten centimeters long by five centimeters wide on the external face of the distal third of the left forearm;

- hematoma fifteen centimeters long by eight centimeters wide on the outer side of the middle third of the left arm;

- edema of the index finger of the left hand with painful flexion of the index finger;

- hematoma of the entire dorsal surface of the right hand, with edema and functional impotence of the right hand;

- multiple cutaneous erosions of the neck, predominant on the anterior face, opposite the glottis, and the posterior face, with multiple pains by scratching of the neck and opposite the right trapezium

- emotional shock with crying.

These lesions lead to an I.T.T. two days from this day, and do not predict I.P.P, except complications.

Certificate established at the request of the interested party and delivered by hand to make say and assert what is right.

The Police Report:

We left our home in Montsegur to go to Carcassonne to collect our vehicle that we had left in the airport parking lot. Arrives in Lavelanet at 4:30 pm. Mr Stanley started shouting at me because he wanted to buy tobacco. Also, I park the vehicle in the parking lot of the post office. There, as I tried to grab the key to the car to lock it. Mr. Stanley grabbed me by the hair, hit my head on the dashboard several times, then tried to entangle me at my neck. Then, as I tried to get my things out of the vehicle, he hit me on my left arm.

I managed to save myself from the vehicle and to flee to take refuge with my friend in Lavelanet.

The next day I consulted with a doctor who prescribed me a days ITT and mentioned:

- hematoma ten centimeters long by five centimeters wide on the external face of the distal third of the left forearm;

- hematoma fifteen centimeters long by eight centimeters wide on the outer side of the middle third of the left arm;

- edema of the index finger of the left hand with painful flexion of the index finger;

- hematoma of the entire dorsal surface of the right hand, with edema and functional impotence of the right hand;

- multiple cutaneous erosions of the neck, predominant on the anterior face, opposite the glottis, and the posterior face, with multiple pains by scratching of the neck and opposite the right trapezium

- emotional shock with crying.

Question: Is this violence recurrent?

Response: Yes. This is the fourth time in two (weeks). But this time it was the most violent fact. The last time this happened, he told me he was going to heal himself but never did. Often he grabs me by the hair and throws me either on the ground or against a wall.

Question: What are the types of violence that you usually suffer?

Answer: They are mostly physical, verbal and psychological. He considers me his slave. I have to do whatever he tells me otherwise he will mistreat me. If I tell him no, he screams and goes crazy.

Question: How do you explain the behavior of Mr. Stanley?

Response: It is only when he gets angry.

Question: How do you explain this excess of anger?

Response: Since Richard's (mother's) death in June 2014, it has gotten worse. When he wakes up in a bad mood, things don't get better the rest of the day.

Question: Have you ever been the victim of violence from other people?

Response: No. Only Richard Stanley.

Question: Have you seen a doctor previously?

Response: No.

Question: Did you speak about this violence to a third person, association for women, justice?

Response: Only to my family in the USA and some friends.

Question: Do you plan to resume living together with Mr. Stanley?

Response: No.

Question: Are you planning to contact an associate helping women victims of violence?

Response: Yes.

I am aware that you are directing me to the Information Center on the Rights of Women and Families in Foix, as well as ASOJA in FOIX.

Question: Does Mr Stanley speak French?

Response: He is an English citizen but was born in South Africa. He does not speak French.

I acknowledge having received a copy of my hearing and a receipt for filing a complaint. I have nothing more to add.
